Fidelity’s heritage of investing extends beyond the financial markets to investments in the communities where Fidelity people live and work. Fidelity has a presence in 160 cities across 39 states, and whether the firm is providing financial assistance to charitable organizations, or associates are mentoring students, transforming schools or donating musical instruments to young students, Fidelity is committed to being a good citizen. Just as the company’s business purpose is to help people live the lives they want, Fidelity also believes in helping local people and institutions live better lives through programs such as:

  • Fidelity Employee Engagement and Commitment to Education: For decades, Fidelity employees have participated in the communities where associates live and work, offering their time and talent in many ways. These contributions come in many forms, including transforming learning environments during School Transformation Days, tutoring and mentoring students and donating or refurbishing technology in schools. In 2013, Fidelity employees drew on their insights and experience to support more than 300 education and financial literacy projects for students and teachers across the country.
  • Fidelity Foundation: For nearly 50 years, the Fidelity Foundation has focused its grant program on strengthening nonprofit organizations. Fidelity views its philanthropy as an investment — not just of financial resources, but also of its business skills and experience. The Foundation’s grant program seeks always to reflect Fidelity’ commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
  • Fidelity Charitable®: Since 1991, Fidelity Charitable® has helped individual donors throughout the country support over 180,000 nonprofit organizations with nearly $17 billion in grants. More than 250,000 donor-recommended grants totaling nearly $1.1 billion were distributed during the first six months of 2014, a 19 percent increase from the previous record of nearly $919 million distributed in the first half of 2013.
